A 2019 American supernatural horror film with a script by Gary Dauberman, It Chapter Two is directed by Andy Muschietti. It is the second installment in a two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s It, and it is a follow-up to It (2017). It focuses mostly on the second half of the book. 

Along with Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise, it also stars Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, and Bill Hader. At Pinewood Toronto Studios and other sites around Port Hope, Oshawa, and Toronto, principal photography commenced on June 19 and was completed on October 31, 2018. Warner Bros. Pictures handled the film’s distribution while New Line Cinema, Double Dream, Vertigo Entertainment, and Rideback produced it.

In 2016, 27 years after its original defeat, Pennywise makes a comeback to Derry, Maine, where it viciously attacks Adrian Mellon, killing him by eating out his heart. Adrian and his boyfriend had just been the victims of a hate crime committed by townspeople after visiting a carnival.

The last Losers Club member still living in Derry, Mike Hanlon, summons the other club members, Bill Denbrough, Ben Hanscom, Beverly Marsh, Richie Tozier, Eddie Kaspbrak, and Stanley Uris, to uphold their vow to kill Pennywise if he returned. This pledge was made 27 years before. Except for Stanley, who commits suicide out of dread of the beast, everyone else returns to Derry.

Before Pennywise informs the Losers of Stanley’s suicide, Mike recalls their recollections of the events at a Chinese restaurant. Richie and Eddie make the decision to depart when Beverly says she has seen psychic visions of their demise if they break their vows. Meanwhile, it lures a little girl called Victoria into a trap at a baseball game before killing her.

Through a drug-induced vision, Mike demonstrates to Bill how the Native American “Ritual of Chüd” may permanently put an end to it. Mike reveals that some relics from their history must be sacrificed as part of the ceremony. Bill retrieves Georgie’s paper sailboat from the storm drain where she was murdered.
